Chairman
From our early beginnings as a single outpatient complex in 1995 to becoming the largest private healthcare provider in the Middle East with over 25 medical facilities and 35 pharmacies, we have remained committed to delivering world-class care while creating long-term value for the people and communities we serve.
In alignment with national ambitions, HMG continues to expand its role as a strategic enabler of healthcare excellence, socioeconomic development and environmental responsibility. We view ESG not as an obligation, but as a framework that guides how we operate, grow and contribute to a healthier, more resilient future.
Our Second ESG Report
It is with great pride that I present HMG’s second ESG Report, a reflection of our continued efforts to enhance transparency, embed sustainability across our operations, and demonstrate accountability to our stakeholders. Building upon the foundations laid in our 2023 disclosures, this report reflects how we are elevating our environmental, social and governance efforts to new heights. In 2024, we advanced this commitment by conducting a comprehensive ESG target-setting exercise.
These targets span across all our strategic priorities covering the protection and preservation of the environment, empowerment of our people, engagement of the community and maintaining sound business practices.
Protect and Preserve the Environment
Our commitment to environmental stewardship reflects a broader responsibility to future generations. In 2024, we reaffirmed this commitment by aligning our environmental priorities with Vision 2030 and the global climate agenda, setting clear goals to reduce emissions, conserve water and minimize waste. Earning LEED O&M Gold certification across all our hospitals stands as a proud milestone, not only for HMG, but for the healthcare sector in the region. As we continue to grow, we remain focused on minimizing our carbon footprint and promoting a circular, resource-efficient healthcare system.
Empower Our People and Engage the Community
Beyond our operations, we remain committed to empowering people and strengthening communities. HMG is home to a diverse and growing team of over 24,000 professionals, each playing a vital role in fulfilling our mission. We are proud to lead the way in healthcare education through the HMG Academy, while we continue to prioritize employee well-being, diversity and professional development, recognizing that our people are our most valuable asset. Since 2021, over 700 diploma, residency and fellowship students have graduated from the Academy with sought-after qualifications. In 2024, our first three international fellowship scholars completed their programs with distinction.
We are dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care. We continue to invest in the safety, experience and well-being of every patient. In 2024, we expanded our specialized services and enhanced safety protocols through daily safety huddles.
We also leveraged data-driven tools and clinical protocols to ensure consistency and excellence in healthcare delivery. Recent developments in digital technologies provide new treatment options. This is evidenced by the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies in Radiology, LiveCare and e-Pharmacy.
Furthermore, our dedication to strengthening and supporting the communities we serve is deeply rooted in HMG’s values and sense of purpose. Through a wide range of community outreach programs, health awareness initiatives and social contributions we strive to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives. In 2024 alone, we invested % 44.7 million in corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives in addition to our sponsorship and value-in-kind support in the form of medical services for various events across the Kingdom.
Maintain Sound Business Practices
Equally important is our strong commitment to governance and data privacy. HMG operates in a highly regulated environment where compliance is non-negotiable. We uphold the highest standards of ethical conduct and ensure full adherence to Saudi regulatory frameworks, particularly those governing healthcare operations, corporate disclosures and patient data privacy. Our ISO 27001 certification reflects our rigorous approach to information security and data privacy.
At HMG, we maintain a robust governance framework that ensures ESG is integrated into the Group’s strategic direction and operational decision-making. At the Board level, ESG oversight has been strengthened to ensure strategic alignment, performance monitoring and long-term accountability. Our policies and practices are fully aligned with national regulatory frameworks, this includes a sharp focus on patient and employee rights, ethical conduct and data protection.
On behalf of the Board of Directors, I humbly acknowledge and thank King Salman bin Abdulaziz, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, and Crown Prince Muhammed bin Salman for the great wisdom with which they lead the Kingdom and drive the Vision.
I also thank our employees for delivering excellent services to HMG’s patients every day, the Group’s work would not happen without their dedication.
As we look ahead, we remain devoted to leading with purpose. Our success is deeply tied to the communities we serve and the country we represent. We are committed to integrating ESG principles into the core of our strategy, ensuring our growth contributes meaningfully to a better tomorrow.
