Materiality Assessment
In 2022, we conducted a materiality assessment exercise, engaging with our stakeholders to identify the issues that matter most to them. This process enabled us to develop a materiality matrix of 12 key topics, providing a more focused approach to create greater value. In 2023, we refined our criteria to ensure continued relevance, and this year, we updated and realigned our most material topics for a more comprehensive and forward-looking assessment.

Environmental
We are committed to environmental stewardship and continuously strive to minimize our impact on the planet while advancing sustainable healthcare practices. Our comprehensive approach addresses critical environmental challenges such as climate change, resource efficiency and waste management.
In terms of energy conservation, we have launched and intensified various initiatives during the year. Some of our highlights for the year include:
- We are the first private healthcare company in the MENA region to achieve LEED O&M Gold certification in all our hospitals.

Established a state-of-the-art command center in Sahafa, enabling us to track environmental data across all our hospitals. Serving as a centralized dashboard, it seamlessly integrates with our building management system to enhance monitoring and sustainability performance.
- Implemented Computer-Aided Facility Management (CAFM) system across all HMG hospitals and medical facilities. This enables proactive and preventive maintenance of our systems which enhances operational efficiency, reduces equipment downtime and optimizes resource usage.

Governance

Our robust governance framework ensures strategic oversight by the Board, active engagement from senior leadership, and day-to-day management by a dedicated team.
ESG Governance
Our ESG governance framework is structured to ensure effective ESG oversight and engagement of key stakeholders at all key leadership levels across the Group.
Board of Directors: Our Board is central to shaping and overseeing the ESG strategic framework. It approves the overall ESG framework and conducts rigorous quarterly reviews to track performance.
CEO and Senior Leadership Team: Our CEO and senior leadership team are deeply engaged in the ESG strategic framework. process. They evaluate and recommend the strategy to the Board for approval and receive regular performance updates to ensure alignment with the Group’s goals.
ESG team: The team is responsible for leading, overseeing and implementing our ESG strategic framework and operations. This team collaborates to integrate ESG considerations into our business processes, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and stakeholder expectations.
We are finalizing the development of our ESG champions program which includes representatives from various Group functions. These members will support in the collection of sustainability-related data, implement initiatives that contribute to achieving our annual ESG targets.
