Airport Representative:

DEPARTURE

Against Medical Advice:

Patients and Medical travel patients who refuse all types of diagnostic treatment, both inpatient and outpatient, have to follow the Dr. Sulaiman Al Habib Hospital, policy by signing "Consent Against Medical Advice."

Discharge Plan:

At Dr. Sulaiman Al Habib Hospital, Al Khobar, physicians will first assess patients before written discharge orders are issued. To ensure you are ready for the discharge process, the written discharge order must be recorded and filed in your medical records before the discharge.

Discharge Time:

The discharge will follow Dr. Sulaiman Al Habib Hospital policy. On the day of your discharge, you can submit a request for a late discharge and stay longer. However, additional expenses will be applied.

Patient Education:

At discharge, patients will be educated on the following but not limited to:

a) Medication and treatment were given while admitted.
b) Appropriate use of medications post-discharge.
c) Education on nutritional food that is best for their health condition.
d) Understand the goal of treatment, learn how to observe their symptoms and know when to notify the physician or nurse about significant symptoms.

Follow-up:

Upon discharge, patients will be contacted by Dr. Sulaiman Al Habib Hospital, for a follow-up regarding their medical conditions and satisfaction. Please provide the contact details to our nurses or patient advocate to follow up with you.

Traveling by Air:

Suppose you must travel by air to return to your home country or another destination. In that case, you will need to ask your doctor to certify a Fit for Travel Medical Certificate and a list of medications you will require abroad. The Fit for Travel Medical Certificate is only valid seven days from the issue date. Please ensure the following before making travel plans:

a) Ask your physician for a summary of medical reports, lab tests and X-ray results.
b) Gather the contact information of your clinic, transport provider and patient advocate.
c) Inform your physician and nurse where your destination is.
d) Confirm transportation plans at the airport in the destination you are headed to.
